About us

THE ORSTON SPRING DASH - 10K RUN

This is a 10km run on mixed terrain through the villages and lanes around the village of Orston in Nottinghamshire. In 2024 this event will take place for the 7th time. The previous runs have been in beautiful spring sunshine with a great atmosphere amongst the competitors and volunteers. This year there will be medals for all runners and prizes for the first male and female runners in both events. We have also gained a reputation for serving up delicious cake free to all runners after the event!

We are affiliated to runbritain (as we have been in previous years) and will have a race adjudicator present on race day. Please note that the total distance of this run is slightly more than 10km but as it is mixed terrain it is stilled classed as a 10km run under runbritain guidelines.



This year Seasons Best Sports Timing will be our official race timers. They are a Sports Timing Company based in Doncaster. They use the best timing equipment in the game My Laps which is used at The World Marathon Majors and Great Run Series to ensure that everyone know matter what pace gets a time.

Please note that registration will close for both runs at 9.45am on race day. Online entries will close at 5pm on Friday 3rd May.

As in previous years all the proceeds from the Spring Dash are donated to good causes. This year we are pleased to be raising funds for Orston Primary School and Friends of Sandon and Ambergate (FOSA). FOSA are a parent, staff and friend association that raises funds for Sandon Campus and Ambergate Campus. They are a registered charity (No.1066048).

Important information for the day

There will be a runners pack available for you at the desk in Orston Primary School hall, entrance at the rear of the school from 9am on Sunday morning. This will contain your race number and safety pins.

Please fill in the medical information template on the back of your race number.

Please wear your race number on the front of your vest.

Bag storage is available if required.

Please park considerately on the day of the event. A small amount of parking is available behind the village hall. No vehicles should be brought into the school playground.
